Mr. Deepal Jayamanne

Mr. Deepal Jayamanne is an experienced Tea Taster, and Auctioneer with an impressive career spanning several decades. He received his primary education as St. Benedict’s College, Kotahena and Aquinas College. In 1977, Mr. Jayamanne began is career in Tea Broking at Bartleet & Company Ltd, where he served as Jt. Managing Director until his departure in 2006. Following his resignation, he joined Mercantile Produce Brokers (Pvt) Ltd as a Director from 2007 to 2016. Presently he is a Consultant at Asia Siyaka Commodities PLC.

Throughout his illustrious career, Mr. Jayamanne has held several notable positions within the industry. He served as the Chairman of the Colombo Brokers Association in 2012 / 2013 and 2016, played an active role in the Association for many years. He was a Board member of the Sri Lanka Tea Board in 2012/2013 and in 2016. Currently, he serves as the Chairman of the Tea Sample Sub-Committee of the Colombo Tea Traders Association, as well as the Technical Sub-Committee on Packaging. Mr. Jayamanne is also a Panel member of the Tea Tasting Unit of the Sri Lanka Tea Board.

Mr. Jayamanne’s vast knowledge and expertise in the tea industry make him a  respected figure in the field of Tea and His contribution to the industry is immense.
