The company owns and manages the world’s only “Green” tea auction logistics center which is Leeds certified and is the leading tea auction logistics provider with a share in excess of 28% of all teas stored for the Colombo Tea Auction.
Asia Siyaka Warehousing (Pvt) Ltd is a fully owned subsidiary of Asia Siyaka Commodities PLC. Incorporated in 1998, Asia Siyaka Commodities PLC was listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange in 2012. It is a licensed Tea, Rubber and Commodity broker and a leading market intermediary in the tea industry. The Company is renowned for its innovative and dynamic approach, and application of sophisticated and advanced technology to a largely traditional sector.
The company entered into warehousing and logistics in 2000 forming Asia Siyaka Warehousing (Pvt) Ltd, with its advanced logistics center in Colombo. With 200,000 sqft and 29,000 racking spaces which is capable of managing 11 million kilograms of tea at any given time and is probably the largest tea auction logistic center in the world. It is the first of its kind in the South Asian region for storage of tea, which features fully computerized advanced pallet racking system.
It is located in the outskirts of Colombo with quick access to the port and highway network. The century old Colombo Tea Auction was a key beneficiary of the state of the art warehousing and logistics facility which transformed into a fully digitized tea distribution and management center. It was for the first time in Sri Lanka a broker was able to add considerable value to the pre and post auction logistics process, whilst cutting costs and operating time at both ends of the value chain helped Sri Lanka develop the shortest tea to cash cycle in the world.
Asia Siyaka Warehousing is the first tea broker warehouse in Sri Lanka to be ISO certified in 2001 and is being managed under the new ISO 22000, 45000:2018 standards. It has also been awarded the USA Green Building Certification as well and is solar powered with low carbon footprint.
Our logistics center is an industry benchmark for the tea broking community and is a model used by other brokers, trading and marketing companies in design and layout planning for their own units. Asia Siyaka believe that its competitive edge is its experienced human resource. Whilst ensuring a safe and rewarding work culture for its staff, the Group has also placed tremendous importance in safeguarding the environment and reducing the company’s carbon foot print through several initiatives such as extensive renewable energy usage, lower consumption of water, efficient and sustainable agriculture practices and automated processes towards a paperless working space.
